Why I built it

After years working in construction across Australia, I kept seeing the same scene play out. Homeowners trying to find a roofer they could trust, getting overwhelmed by pay-to-play directories, gameable reviews, and quotes that varied by tens of thousands of dollars without explanation.

The information asymmetry was structural. Homeowners couldn't tell quality from cowboys until the work was already underway — and by then it was usually too late, or too expensive, to walk away.

AustralianRoofers.com is what I wished existed when I was on the inside watching all this. Every profile is verified against the relevant state's public licence register. Every review is pulled directly from Google — never edited or paid for. Pricing guides for every common job, transparent quote requests fanned to up to five verified firms, and no paid placements. Ever.

We don't take payments from roofers to influence reviews or rankings. We make money from homeowner traffic, not from the firms being listed — which means our incentive is to be useful to people researching real roofing decisions.
